About Bundi

Bundi is a town in the Hadoti region in the state of Rajasthan. The town houses beautiful palaces and stout forts. It is a place, which has witnessed some great battles of historical importance. The architectural excellence of the town speaks volumes of the associated legends. This excellence can be seen in the form of step wells, locally known as baoris, and adorned forts and palaces. The town is endowed with rich natural beauty in the form of lakes, rivers and splendid waterfalls. Bundi is situated at a distance of about 35 kms from Kota and 210 kms from Jaipur. The city is surrounded by picturesque Aravallis on three sides. The huge wall surrounding the city has four gateways. The Indiragarh town situated in the Bundi district of Rajasthan is famous for Kali and Kamleshwar temples. The step well of Indiragarh offers one of the most beautiful sights to the visitors during rainy seasons. There are more than 50 step wells in the city which used to be the prime sources of water prior to the introduction of piped water system in the city. The scenic beauty of this place has been an inspiration for several poets and writers. Bundi is an important tourist destination in the state of Rajasthan, which has an amiable and inviting atmosphere for the tourists and visitors. Its natural beauty and picturesque palaces is definitely a treat to the eyes. It is considered as an oasis in the desert state of Rajasthan.
