A blend of entertainment and education is the best package to grab for summer vacation and the famous Coringa Wildlife Sanctuary on the Kakinada city outskirts is offering it. The community based eco tourism package from the Forest Department is providing an opportunity to the public to go deep into the mangroves on the newly laid interior roads, besides enjoying a boat ride till the sea mouth. The Coringa Wild Life Sanctuary, named after a tiny village called Coringa, is situated in the East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. The region covers an area of 235 sq kms. It was declared a sanctuary in the year 1978 as it was the home of different and rare species of Mangroves and rare species of birds and animals. The Coringa Wild Life Sanctuary is rich in flora and fauna. The mangrove plants have been categorized into thirty five species that belong to a group of 24 families. The mangrove plants have adapted themselves to the environment in which it grows. The sanctuary also has a heavy growth of shrubs and herbs. Numerous species of salt tolerant plant species constitutes its flora, which include tropical and subtropical floral species such as Rhizophora, Avincinia, Sonneratia Aegiceros, and others. The Coringa Wildlife Sanctuary provides habitats to numerous endangered and protected species of animals and plants. The best time to visit Coringa Wild Life Sanctuary is between the months of October and May. Pedal boats and 20 seater boats are available here for those who wish to go boating.
 

Dowleswaram Barrage, situated at a distance of 10 kms from the Rajahmundry, was constructed with a view to serve irrigation. The barrage was built on the last stretch of the magnificent Godavari River. The barrage is successful in accomplishing the reason for its construction by making the land fertile with its waters. The barrage was also successful in averting famines that were a common occurrence during British period. The barrage was built by a British irrigation engineer, Sir Arthur Thomas Cotton, which helped in avoiding floods.
 

Kadiyapulanka is an absolute delight to your visual senses. Situated 8 kms away from Rajahmundry the village flourishes in floriculture and horticulture. Some of the flowers grown in the nurseries here include rose, jasmine, lilies and chrysanthemums. Ornamental plants such as arclias, song of India and archaria are grown here. The flower show held every year in the month of January is the right time to feast the eyes and senses with excellent collections of flowers. The colours of the flowers render magic to the air.
 

Forest Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh started Eco Tourism Project at Maredumilli, Rampa Agency areas and at Masani Tippa costal area with an intension of letting the people know about the development and protection of forest area of Kakinada Territorial Forest Division. For the development of Tourism project two fibre boats were made ready by the forest department. For the sake of fishermen living around the coastal area of Massanithippa, the department started shopping complex for selling dry fishes and other yield brought from sea by the fishermen. Recently the shopping the complex and fibre boats have been inaugurated here. The department also started road transport facility using minivan for the transportation of above said sea yield through the road transport.
 

Maredimalli Eco Tourism offers a wide range of eco tourism options for the visitor.
