Hampi is the Group of Monuments, & a UNESCO World Heritage Site situated in east-focal Karnataka, India. Hampi, a sanctuary town in Karnataka, was at one time the capital of the authentic Vijayanagara Dynasty. This mesmerizing spot, lying amid striking remains of the past, has been getting vacationers from a distance for a very long time. The greatness of the vestiges of sanctuaries and different structures of Vijayanagar, going back to 1500 AD, is the fundamental fascination of this spot.

1: Virupaksha Temple
Virupaksha Temple
The Virupaksha temple is on the banks of the Tungabhadra river at Hampi. The beautiful architecture and history of the temple have made it a UNESCO World Heritage site. The temple is home to one of the forms of Lord Shiva called Lord Virupaksha. The temple has tall towers called gopurams serving as gateways to the inner sanctums, as is usually seen in temples of south Indian style architecture.

Lotus Palace
One of the most iconic landmarks in Hampi is the Lotus Palace. Located inside the Zenana Enclosure, this palace was the royal women\'s area during the Vijayanagara Empire. Its structure resembles a lotus in bloom.

Vithala Temple
The most impressive structure in Hampi, the Vithala Temple, is a splendid example of rich architecture. This temple houses the famous stone chariot, which has become an iconic symbol of Hampi architecture. Its main gate is adorned with carvings and opens into a large courtyard with a stone chariot in the center. The main temple is located just behind the chariot and has exquisite carvings.
 
4: Monkey Temple

Yantradharaka Hanuman Temple, also called the Monkey Temple, is located in a cave at the top of Anjaneya Hill, about 2 km from Virupaksha Temple. Dedicated to Lord Hanuman, the temple is 500 years old. As one of the most famous attractions on Anjeyanadri Hill, the Monkey Temple is considered sacred by Hindus. To reach the temple, one must climb 570 steps. It is one of the must-visit spots for all nature as well as religious lovers.\r\n 
 
5: Matanga Hill

Matanga Hill, located just a km from the main bus stand in Hampi, is known to be the highest point of Hampi & therefore is one of the best places to see a bird\'s eye view of Hampi. According to the epic Ramayana, this hill was the site of Saint Matanga\'s hermitage, hence its name.
 
6: Monolith Bull
Monolith Bull
The Yeduru Basavanna is a big monolithic sculpture of a bull found towards the east end of the Virupaksha Bazaar. The Bull sculpture is believed to be over 500 years old & is amongst the most visited tourist attractions in Hampi.
 
7: Shivlinga
Shivlinga
This Shivlinga stands 3 meters amidst water, carved out of a single boulder, and is a major attraction in Hampi. The big Shivlinga is also the biggest in Hampi & is close to Lakshmi Narasimha Temple. The Shiva Linga has no ceiling & the whole compartment becomes inundated with light.

This sanctuary highlights the best features in Hampi, of Narasimha sitting on SeshaNaag,  the seven-headed snake acting as a protector to him. The icon of Goddess Lakshmi is put together with that of Narasimha. The statue is currently housed at the Archeological Gallery at Kamalapura after it was ruined when the Mughals attacked Hampi.
