Karimnagar, popularly known as Kareem Nagar is an antique city resplendent with architectural marvels and cultural heritage of the yore. Located in the state of Telangana it is one of the famous cities of the South Indian state and is located on the banks of Manair River, a tributary of the Godavari River. Karimnagar is a city located along the Manair River, which is a big tributary running out from the Godavari River in Telangana. This is considered as a popular financial area and is speedily emerging as a major educational hub. Karimnagar has many tourist attractions, some of them being Elgandal Fort, Ujwal Park, Rajeev Dear Park, and many famous pilgrimage sites. Karimnagar has a rich historical background. Vemulawada
Vemulawada, situated on the Karimnagar Kamareddy bus route, is famous for its pond named Koneru, popularly known as the Dharma Gundam. The water of this pond is believed to have curative properties. The site is especially visited by people on the occasion of Mahashivratri. Some of the other major shrines located within the site are the Bhimeshwara Swamy temple, Anantha Padmanabha Swamy temple, Kodanda Ramaswamy temple and Kasi Visweswara temple.  
 
2: Elgandal Fort
Elgandal Fort
Elgandal Fort is situated 10 kms away from Karimnagar on the bank of the Manair River. The fort had been a centre of power of various dynasties, including the Kakatiya dynasty, Bahmanis, Qutub Shahis, Mughals and Asaf Jahis. The temples of Nelakantha Swamy and Narasimha Swamy are located inside this fort. The Brindavan Tank, built by Zafar-ud-Daula in 1754, is located near the fort. The fort also has tombs of various saints, where the annual Urs of these saints is celebrated.
