1: Buddha Vihar

Buddha Vihar consist of 14 underground rooms with welcome gates and on both sides of the gate the statues of dwarplas are carved in stone pillars. There exists a 6 feet tall statue of Lord Buddha inside the vihar, the place is also known for the meeting point of Awlokiteshwar and Makarwahini Gange.

2: Barnawapara Wildlife Sanctuary

Barnawapara Wildlife Sanctuary is a place located about 46 km from the city, travellers can vist the sanctuary on their private vehicles but taking a guide is mandatory for visiting the Sanctuary. The major attractions in the Sanctuary are Sloth Bear, Flying Squirrels, Four-horned Antelopes, Black Buck, Jungle Cat, Barking Deer, Bison, Striped Hyena, Sambar, Gaur, Cobra, Python, Muntjac and Wild Boar. The best time to visit the Sanctuary is between November to June.

3: Laxman Temple

Laxman Temple is a temple in mahasamund and it is known as one of the oldest temple in the city, the has a historical importance of its own. On the top of the temple there is statue of sheshnaag serving as an umberella to Lord Shiva. The Archaeological Survey of India with a collection of statues of Vaishnava, Shaiva, Buddhist and Jain of relevant importance, has established a museum inside the temple.
