Matheran is a cozy little hill station at an elevation of 2600 feet above sea level, 100 km from Mumbai & one of the very few places in the world that do not allow any vehicles. By Road: One can also take a bus or a cab to a place close to Matheran & hire horse rides or trek or man-pulled rickshaws to reach Matheran since any vehicles are not allowed in Matheran.
