About Chamoli

Chamoli is a natures paradise and offers some of the most scenic trekking routes like the Valley of Flowers trek & Brahmtal Trek. Chamoli District is the second largest district of Uttarakhand, bounded by the Tibet region to the north, Pithoragarh and Bageshwar to the east, Almora to the south, Garhwal to the southwest, Rudraprayag to the west, and Uttarkashi to the northwest. The administrative headquarters of the district is Gopeshwar. Chamoli, the abode of Gods, reputed for its pleasant climate, shrines, and temples, is one of the hill districts of Uttarakhand.

🚆 By Rail - The closest major railhead is located at the town of Haridwar and this is the most suitable choice for those travellers who are planning to arrive by rail. Haridwar has rail services from many cities and one can reach the place from Delhi, Lucknow and Dehradun easily.

🚌 By Road - The town is connected by state run buses and these are affordable and frequent. Buses ply to Chamoli Gopeshwar from places such as Haridwar Dehradun, and Rishikesh regularly. Tickets from Dehradun cost around Rs. 150/- Buses are not comfortable and are often crowded as they are used by many tourists who travel through this route.
