Parasnath Hills are a range of hills located in Giridih district of Jharkhand. The highest peak is 1350 mts. It is one of the most important pilgrimage centres for Jains. They call it Sammet Sikhar. The hill is named after Parasnath, the 23rd Tirthankara. Twenty of the twenty four Jain Tirthankaras attained salvation on this hill. According to some, nine Tirthakaras attained salvation on this hill. For each of them there is a shrine on the hill. Some of the temples on the hill are believed to be more than 2000 years old. However, although the place is habited from ancient times, the temples may be of more recent origin. The Santhals call it Marang Buru, the hill of the deity. They celebrate a hunting festival on the full moon day in Baisakh.
 

Usri Falls is located on Tundi Road of Giridih district 13 kms east of the township. Usri Falls is one of the demanded picnic spots of the state. The river separates into three different streams as the river falls down 40 feet deep gorge. Impenetrable forest of Parasnath Hills covers the surrounding of Usri Falls. Gushing down of the river amidst the Parasnath Hills is a mesmerising scenic view. Giridih is the closest railway station from where tourists can take three wheeler auto rickshaws, taxi or tanga. Buses are easily accessible from the bus stand which takes the tourists to necessary destinations. The State Government has taken the initiative to make Usri Falls, Khandoli Dam and Parasnath into further more accessible tourist spots of the state.
 

Khandoli water reservoir is located 8 kms northeast of Giridih headquarter and is one of the best sites for water related adventure sports and bird watching. A watch tower and 600 feet high hillock offers a panoramic view of Khandoli site. Elephant and Camel Safari and numbers of other amusement facilities are available there including boating, Rock climbing, parasailing and Kayaking. Nearest railway station is Giridih. Taxis are available from railway station and bus stand.
