About this place

Eklinga Temple is one of the famous temples of Rajasthan, at a distance of 22 km in the north of Udaipur, dedicated to the Lord Shiva of the Hindu religion & its brilliant architecture drives several tourists here every year. This double-storied temple looks magnificent with its pyramidal-style roof and uniquely carved tower. Inside the arena, the main temple is a huge pillared hall or mandap sheltered by a heavy pyramidal roof. Established in 734 A.D. by Bappa Rawal, Eklinga has been the ruling idol of Mewar rulers. On entering this hall, one will see a beautiful silver image of Nandi. This temple is filled with an enthralling fragrance and is known for a striking four-faced idol of Lord Shiva made out of black marble.
