The village where the musical maestro the late Mallikarjun Mansur was born and brought up will get a facelift on the occasion of his centenary year. Dr. Mallikarjun Mansur National Trust has embarked on a scheme to develop the ancestral house of the late Mansur and other monuments in the village connected with the life of the musician. Accordingly, Mansur's ancestral house will be developed as a memorial. Besides, the Kariyamma temple which Mansur used to visit regularly, the tank adjacent to the temple and the amphitheatre that was in a bad condition would be developed and the open space developed so that different activities could take place. Also, a stage will be built inside the temple. The scheme has it to develop this hamlet into model village with cultural value so that it can be a visiting place for the tourist and music lovers.
