Edinburgh
This stunning building lies at the bottom of the Royal Mile and was designed by Catalan architect, Enric Miralles. It is a source of some controversy in Scotland because it went massively over budget and a fierce debate still rages over whether it is beautiful or ugly. In the 1600's, this historical attraction was the place where Scottish Parliament would meet. Today this building is just as alive as it was hundreds of years ago as lawyers meet here to discuss their cases with clients. The decor inside consists of a beautiful hammer beam ceiling, a fireplace that dates to the 19th century and portraits from renowned artists including Roubiliac and Turnerelli.
