Located in the small and ancient town of Osian in Jodhpur, the Jain Mahavira Temple is a pilgrimage center for Jains. As a tribute to the 24th Jain Tirthankara, Lord Mahavira, the temple was built by Pratihara King Vatsa in AD 775. The shrine is renowned for its exquisite carvings, which depict different stages of the life of Lord Neminath. Visitors can also see a 32-inch tall sculpture of Lord Mahavira, sitting in padmasana position, at the temple.
