The Lurie Garden in Millennium Park is a beautiful place to visit 365 days a year. In the summer the garden offers free guided tours and a variety of free educational programs and workshops for all ages. The Lurie Garden has evolved in its 12 years of existence into a vibrant urban ecosystem. The garden attracts thousands of visitors, butterflies, honeybees and birds. The Lurie Garden offers seasonal free family and kids programming. All events are garden and nature themed. The Lurie Garden is actually a rooftop garden built on top of the Millennium Park Parking structure. The garden contains over 200 types of plants that bloom at different times of the season so the garden looks different at different times of spring throughout summer.
