One of Pondicherry's star attractions, Seaside Promenade is a reminder of the glorious French colonization in the region. Around 1.5 kilometers in length, this seaside stretch houses some of the most iconic landmarks of the union territory, such as the French War Memorial, Town Hall, and Old Lighthouse. In addition, one can find grand statues of Mahatma Gandhi, Dupleix, and Joan of Arc here. Although it is one of Pondicherry's oldest attractions that remain mostly crowded, there is no pollution. One can savor authentic seafood in the restaurants located on Seaside Promenade. Majestic colonial buildings, immaculate shoreline, and the expansive Bay of Bengal are ideal sights to capture with your camera lens.
