The Shahi Qila was built by Firoz Shah Tughlaq in the year 1360 & is located close to the banks of Gomti River. This fort was made from the raw materials that were brought from the palace of the Rathore kings who reigned in Kanauj. The Sharqis strengthened the fortifications. Later the fort was damaged during the first independent war and lastly acquired by the British
