About this place
It was built during the year 1544-1547 on the Holy Hill to fulfill the vow taken by Alfonso de Albuquerque. It has a two-storied portico plastered with lime mortar. It is not very far from the Basilica of the Bon Jesus. It is architecturally very well developed and worth a visit. It’s also thought to be here that St Francis Xavier gave his first sermon upon his arrival in Old Goa.
