Kolhapur is very famous for traditional wrestling sports known as Kusti. Rajashri Shahu Khasbag Maidan is a very famous kusti ground located in the heart of Kolhapur city. The Maidan is very big and can accommodate more than 25000 spectators. During the wrestling events, the wrestlers are inspired by the musical background using the instrumental music known as Halagi. The maidan is used as a training camp for Kusti sports persons. The Kusti season extends from June to September every year. Visit to this maidan during the Kusti will be an unforgettable experience.
