About this place
This place is situated at 8 kms from Bahraich Gonda Road. A small river called Teri Nadi flows from this lake. Ashtwarka Muni, the Guru of Maharaja Janak used to live here in his ashram. The great battle was fought between Maharaja Suheldev & Syyed Masood Gazi near this lake. In which Maharaja Suheldev won. Every year a fair is organised here on Basant Panchami. During the months of August October immigrating Birds from other parts of the world also come here and increases the tourist importance of the lake.
