Taj Mahal is an ivory-white marble mausoleum on the south bank of the Yamuna river in Agra & is among the seven wonders of the world for reasons more than just looking magnificent. It was built in 1632 by the Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan, to house the tomb of his wife, Mumtaz Mahal. It took approximately 22 years, 22,000 laborers, and 1,000 elephants & at a cost estimated at the time to be around 32 million rupees at that time, to build what we see today as an epitome of love monument of immeasurable beauty.
