The fort, also called the Versova fort, is on Madh Island, built by the Portuguese as a watchtower in the 17th century. It is under the control of the Indian Air Force & permission is required. Madh Island Beach is one of the most famous & cleanest beaches in the state. This beach also serves as an ideal venue for lavish parties hosted by Mumbai's elite society.
