Jane Austen Centre is located in the Queens Square and it is a popular museum in Bath. It is a fascinating testament to the last appeal of Jane Austen. A famous author Jane Austen lived in Bath for 5 years and the city provides the backdrop for two of her novels, Persuasion and Northanger Abbey. The Jane Austen Centre is located at 40 Gay Street in Bath and is a permanent exhibition. Situated in a Georgian townhouse it tells the story of the time spent by Jane in Bath including the facts about how her living and writing was affected by the city. There is a Jane Austen Waxwork in the centre which is a life size wax model. There are extensive museum tours and group visit programmes that include walking tours of Georgian and Regency Bath.
