Museo de la Medicina Francisco Viedma was founded in 1996 at Casona de Santivanez by Dr. Luis Edgar Quiroga a specialist in family medicine and geriatrics, with the collaboration of the Bolivian Academy of Medicine and city hall. The initial exhibits were the different deposits of the Old Viedma Hospital as lithographs, surgical instruments and twelve old books dating from the 90’s donated by the Inter American Cooperative Health Service. Occupying a space of 228 sq mts, it is located on grounds of the Viedma Hospital Complex.
