Phubala resort, on the Phubala Island, is 40 kms from Imphal. Phubala has a number of popular attractions and is close to the western border of the Loktak Lake. Situated in the vicinity of Loktak Lake, many water sports facilities are available. There are two islands namely Karang and Thanga, located amidst the lake, where the water activities can be done. These islands can be reached through boats. This town also offers a beautiful view of the Loktak Lake, where different migratory birds can be seen frequently.
