Ulavi Channabasaveshwara Temple holds great significance as one of the prominent pilgrimage centers in Karnataka, particularly for the Lingayath community. Nestled amidst dense forests in the picturesque Western Ghats of Uttara Kannada district, this temple offers a tranquil and scenic setting. The lush forests surrounding the temple are home to a diverse range of wildlife, including tigers, cheetahs, elephants, sarsangs, cobras, and other fascinating species. Within the temple complex lies the revered Samadhi of Channabasavanna, a highly respected saint of the Lingayat faith. Channabasavanna undertook a journey from Kalyana to Ulavi in the 12th century before his passing. Adjacent to this sacred Samadhi is the Akka Nagalambike cave, named after Nagalambike, Channabasavanna's mother, and Basavanna's sister. The annual fair held at Ulavi attracts pilgrims from all corners of Karnataka, further enhancing the spiritual significance of this revered place.
