Budapest
This neo Classical building initially served as a warehouse for military uniforms in 1809 was converted into a church two years later. Although most of the interior is unpatterned in keeping with Protestant tradition the altar is backed by an impressive model of Raphael's Transfiguration. Built in Roman Catholic style an impressive double Decker gallery rounds out at the rear of the church. The works of the last two decades have been renewing the church step by step both from inside and outside. This Lutheran Church in Budapest is the third largest historical church in Hungary and opens only during services only.
