Budapest
Originally called Franz Joseph Bridge after the Habsburg Emperor the Liberty Bridge was the third to be constructed in Budapest. The bridge competes with the Chain bridge for the honour of the most beautiful river crossing in Budapest. Stylish ironwork and the addition of several Turul birds standing atop the bridge's pillars upgrade its attractiveness more in all ways. The design of the bridge is artistic and simple and connects Buda and Pest across the River Danube. The bridge was opened in 1896 as a part of the Millennium celebrations of the country.
