The Royal Victoria Park is a delightful expanse of lush green spaces which occupy 23 hctrs. Overlooked by the famous Royal Crescent, the park is home to beautiful flower beds, children's playgrounds and many other recreational areas. Guests can take a walk in the garden enjoy a picnic while watching balloon take offs or watch a show at the music kiosk. The park was established in 1829 as an arboretum and was designed to help promote Bath as a tourist destination. Its name is inspired by Queen Victoria who inaugurated it when she was a princess at the age of 11 years. Do not miss the obelisk dedicated to Queen Victoria and her husband Prince Albert. Tourists will enjoy doing picnic on the lawns dominated by the Royal Crescent where they will often see hot air balloon departures. Then head towards the eastern end of the park to enjoy the lawn bowling ground or join a tennis game on the courts.
