Visitors to Sirsi have the option to explore Sahasralinga, a site renowned for its thousand lingas. Located 10 kilometers from the town of Sirsi, it rests on the banks of the Shalmala River, nestled within a vast forested area. While Sahasralinga sees fewer footfalls throughout the year, it attracts a significant number of pilgrims during festivals like Mahashivaratri. Devotees of Lord Shiva frequent this temple to offer their prayers, drawn by the spiritual aura that envelops the site. Beyond the religious aspect, tourists also flock to this temple to witness the awe-inspiring sight of numerous Shiva Lingams intricately carved on stones amidst the flowing river. Notably, each linga is positioned directly opposite an engraving of Nandi, the sacred vehicle of Lord Shiva.
